Dustin Hatfield, a dedicated and seasoned football coach, brings over 17 years of invaluable experience to our football program. His coaching career spans both youth and high school levels, where he has consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to fostering excellence, community involvement, and teamwork. As he joins our team, we are thrilled to leverage his extensive expertise and leadership skills to elevate our athletes both on and off the field. Dustin is also dedicated to his family, fiancé Andrea, children Madyson, Ariana, Micah, Madison, and Gabriel, as well as his friends and co-workers.
Dustin's career highlights include notable tenures at various levels of football coaching. At Hurricane High School (2015-2020, 2021-2022), he served as the Varsity Football Coach, leading the team to the state playoffs every year during his tenure and emphasizing player development, team cohesion, discipline, and sportsmanship. He also contributed to the Hurricane youth football program (2012-2017), mentoring young athletes and instilling core values such as hard work, dedication, and respect for the game. Additionally, at Ona-Milton Youth Football (2008-2010), he coached youth players in foundational football skills and strategies, fostering a love for the game and promoting teamwork and camaraderie. As a coach for the WV Spartans Travel Team (2016-2020), Dustin trained youth athletes in advanced techniques and game strategies, preparing them for competitive tournaments and showcases, while also organizing fundraising and event coordination for travel tournaments.
Dustin's impressive accomplishments include being selected as a Diamond All-American Coach (2019-2021) for the High School Freshman All-American team, leading teams to two state championships in the 10u and 12u categories, and securing the 2017 Tri-State Championship with Hurricane Youth Football. He holds several certifications, including USA Football Certification, WVSSAC Licensed Coach, and CPR/AED Certification. Dustin's educational background includes graduating from Cabell Midland High School in 2002 and attending Cincinnati State University in 2003. His coaching philosophy centers on building a positive team culture, engaging with the community, instilling discipline, and promoting a "One Team" mentality. He is passionately committed to developing student-athletes both athletically and personally, focusing on character building and leadership development.
